What Sets Chantal’s Powders Apart From All the Others?

All the vegetables used are organically grown in healthy, nutrient rich soil here in NZ. As soon as possible after harvesting (within the same day for the kale), the vegetables are prepped and into the state of the art, New Zealand -designed dryer called the OVDMA DriedFresh TM Drying Chamber. This dryer was specifically designed to preserve all of nature’s nutrients, minerals and phytochemicals of the fresh product.  The main difference is that the  DriedFresh TM uses an oxygen free vacuum chamber (preserving the produce from any degradation), to gently dry at a very low temperature (always below 40C); resulting in a powder packed full of enzymes, antioxidants and all of the nutrients of fresh garden picked produce.


Beetroot powder retains all the protective nutrients of freshly dug beetroot, making the powder naturally rich in vitamins, minerals and nitrate. In particular, it is rich in antioxidants, dietary fiber, Vitamin C, calcium, iron, Vitamin B6, natural folates, potassium and manganese. Currently it has become popular with athletes for its high levels of naturally occurring nitrates, which naturally enhances exercise performance with increased blood flow to working muscles; improves aerobic ability and boosts muscle efficiency. In general increased blood flow has many benefits.   Beetroot is also valued for its support in detoxification, ability to purify the blood and support the liver.

Taste and Use:

Chantal’s Beetroot powder has a sweet, unique earthy flavour. Beetroot powder has many uses.  Add it to smoothies or juices or just mix it with water and drink as is. Or add a few teaspoons to salad dressings, gravies, sauces or soups; in general it compliments any recipe using tomatoes. It can also be used in baking, such as cakes, muffins and cookies or as a natural and safe food colouring in icing, giving a bright red velvet colour. Cocoa powder compliments beetroot powder, helping to subdue the beet’s natural earthy flavour, so great to sneak in chocolate cakes and desserts.


The good ol’ carrot is actually a goldmine of nutrients. It is best known for its high source of beta-carotene, which the body converts to Vitamin A and uses to support healthy eyesight; and dietary fibre. Carrots are rich in antioxidants, phytonutrients and alkaline elements, along with a good source of Vitamin C and K. Carrots contain a unique pectin fibre that has been linked to having cholesterol lowering properties. Carrots actually nourish the entire body system and help in the maintenance of acid-alkaline balance in the body.

Taste and use:

Chantal’s Carrot powder has a sweet, subtle and pleasant flavour. Add it to baking such as bread, muffins, and cookies. In particular add it to carrot cake for a deeper flavour.  It is also a great addition to soups and stews, mixed with juice or used as orange food colouring. It gives a real boost to smoothies; here is a simple base to get you started: Apple, banana, carrot powder, spinach, parsley and water.  OR mix 230ml rice milk, 1 frozen banana, 2 tsp carrot powder and a dash of cinnamon. OR for a simple drink, mix 175ml Chantal apple juice, 60ml water, 2 tsp carrot powder.


Kale, also known as the Queen of Greens, is a VERY nutrient dense leafy green and an extraordinarily nourishing food. It’s valued for its high concentration of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds, vitamins A, C, and K and phytonutrients; all which are linked to cancer prevention. Kale strengthens the immune system and fights viruses and bacteria, is a great source of dietary fibre and in particular is very high in calcium, in fact, per calorie, kale has more calcium than milk and more iron than beef.

Taste and use:

Chantal’s Kale powder has a deep and earthy flavour and is surprisingly pleasant. Kale powder can be used in so many ways. Simply mix it with water or juice or pair it with beetroot and/or carrot powder for a revitalizing cleansing drink. Add it to smoothies along with banana, cacao powder or vanilla extract, all which complement its earthy flavour. Kale powder is very versatile in cooking and especially great on eggs, so sprinkle it on:  boiled, scrambled, poached, fried, frittata, etc. It can also be added to salad dressings, soups, stews, spaghetti sauce or any sauce really.


Broccoli is considered a superfood as it is so nutrient dense.  It is part of the cruciferous family, known for their high levels of healthy compounds called glucosinolates, which have numerous beneficial properties:  anti-inflammatory, cleansing and anti-cancerous. Broccoli is high in Vitamin C, calcium, fibre, folate, selenium, potassium, beta carotene, numerous powerful antioxidants and phytonutrients. Plus, it has a natural combination of Vitamin K and Vitamin A which helps our Vitamin D metabolize in balance.  Wow, and if that is not enough, broccoli is a fiber find. Not only is it a rich source, but half of its fiber is insoluble and half is soluble, helping to meet your needs for both types of fiber.

Taste and use:

Chantal’s Broccoli powder has a strong, distinct flavour. And is an excellent way to get all the nutrients and benefits of broccoli on a daily basis. Add it to your favourite recipes such as sauces, soups, stews, casseroles, broths or even smoothies. Sprinkle it on salads or any meal to suit your tastes.  For the strong hearted, make a broccoli shot with 1 tsp powder and 2 Tbsp juice.
